Purse bids for the fight were cancelled at the last minute after a sudden agreement was reached, writes George Gigney
WLADIMIR KLITSCHKO will fight Tyson Fury on October 24 in Dusseldorf, Germany.
The WBO had ordered for purse bids to begin today, but an agreement was reached between the two sides at the last minute, meaning the purse bids were cancelled.
The IBF, WBO and WBA Super world heavyweight champion was potentially willing to travel to the UK to make the mandatory defence, with several football stadiums being mooted.
Klitschko last fought in Dusseldorf in 2012, while Fury has never fought in Germany as a professional.
More details about a venue are set to be announced soon.
