Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) isn't going to be receiving a lot of Christmas cards this year, especially from the mixed martial arts (MMA) community after the governing body suspended Nick Diaz for five yearsfollowing his third failed drug test for marijuana.
And it may not even get any from professional boxers, either, as recently-retired and pound-for-pound great, Floyd Mayweather, chimed in and gave his brief reaction to the suspension.
"Huh? Man, let that man smoke weed and enjoy his life,"said "Money" with an appalled look on his face.
There hasn't been a shortage of support for Diaz, as Ronda Rousey and Henry Cejudo, just to name a few, have made it publicly known they don't care much for NSAC's personal vendetta against the former Strikeforce champion.
In fact, Cejudo recently revealed that he would no longer fight in Nevada as a result of the decision, going as far as to say he'd give up a title shot if it meant fighting under its jurisdiction.
But, not everyone is as supportive, as former UFC Welterweight champion Matt Hughes chimed in by saying a "punk" like Diaz doesn't deserve leniency.
Perhaps if the Diaz legal team had used the "fake marijuana" angle, it might have gotten away with a simple slap on the wrist.
