The Portuguese is under pressure following his side's poor start to the season, but says he is one of the fans
José is feeling the pressure at Chelsea– but his status as a Blues fan remains unchanged.
The Portuguese has come in for criticism at the start of the campaign, with his Premier League champions languishing near the relegation places after a series of poor results.
There have also been whispers of disquiet behind the scenes, prompting Mourinho to address the subject of his future in a lengthy monologue after the defeat to Southampton on Saturday.
But Mourinho insists his role at Chelsea is more than just work. Writing in his new book,Mourinho, the Special One , he declares himself "one of the fans" – and says this is why he is so popular at Stamford Bridge.
Being one of the fans makes me live my job in a different way," he is quoted in the Sun .
It’s a positive — it means I am more than just a manager.
“This is exactly how I feel it. Not just the Chelsea manager but one of them.
“They knew that, they knew that I was one of them. Back to stay, back to give my talent, my work but also my passion.”
