Former President Jacob Zuma's son Vusi Zuma dies suddenly. He was 25

Former president Jacob Zuma and his family are in mourning after his son, Vusi Nhlanakipho Zuma, died suddenly at the Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg late Sunday night.
Vusi was 25 years old.

Close friend and uMkhonto we Sizwe veteran Carl Niehaus confirmed the news early Monday morning. He said that details surrounding the death were not clear to him as he was yet to speak to the Zuma family.

"Yes, it is true that Vusi was former President Zuma's son and he passed away late last night (Sunday) in Johannesburg after a short illness. I am not sure of the details of the illness or how the family are right now but we will be in contact with them soon," Niehaus said.

According to reports, Vusi Zuma is the youngest of five siblings born to the former President and Kate Mantsho, who committed suicide in 2000.

Kate Zuma, the 44-year-old wife of then Deputy President Jacob Zuma died after taking an overdose of sleeping pills and malaria drugs. In her suicide note, which was attached to the docket, Kate Zuma, 44, described her marriage to Zuma as "24 years of hell".

Meanwhile, Vusi's siblings include well-known Zuma twins, Duduzile and Duduzane.

Zuma's spokesperson Vukile Mathabela also confirmed the news saying a family spokesperson will be appointed later today to relay further details.
