During the time between day and night Anwar found himself between life anddeath…After his body stopped moving, a body which was accustomed to moving a lot, right and left….To running behind his lovely small ball till he caught it and beat it with his racquet… the racquet representing an extension of Anwar’s character as a professional tennis player......
At age 21 Anwar decided to start to play tennis professionally....All said he was crazy, no one can start in this age and succeed.....Still he followed his dream, even it though it seemed impossible.....
He travelled to Spain to the Equalite Club, nearly killing himself with extremely rigorous practicing....Totally focused on his dream....Anwar took an unheard of efficiency rating of 120 % in training… He moved to France still pursuing his dream....played in FM sports club....Then he met a coach who believed in his dream,,, Karim Al Aloui....Karim said that Anwar’s dream would come true....Lots of negative publicity followed......The press said Anwar is a fake champion, just using any means to become famous, however crazy.....As result, Anwar lost his coach and lost everything… except his dream.. Anwar didn’t give up on his dream and he started again. He travelled again to Spain. To the Burgera club where he met the great coach Fernando Loano, who was shocked by the level Anwar had achieved in such a short time.....Anwar resumed his killing practices...till he seriously injured his back. Anwar could not practice standing upright so he practiced from a chair!!!.....And he came back even stronger.....
He took a wild card spot to play the main draw of his first international tournament in Barcelona.....and he played with one of the top players in the world Mark Lopez.... becoming the first player in history to start tennis at age 21 and at age 23 be an ATP tennis player.....Anwar decided to complete in more tournaments to gain more experience, to achieve his dream.... During his second international tournament disaster struck again…Anwar collapsed on the court during the competition…
Anwar was diagnosed with a failure in bone marrow....the press attacked him again, even though he was between life and death....But Anwar never lost sight of his dream,..doctors believed he was going to die....The doctors wanted to amputate his hand because the circulation ceased and the hand was getting little or no blood......The treatment to inhibit rejection after the bone marrow transplant destroyed his body...His weight ballooned to125 kg after course of cortisone......
But Anwar’s dream didn’t die....his complete determination made the impossible possible…and against all odds Anwar has come back strong.....
Today Anwar has reached the same level of fitness as he had before the operation and he has started to play international tournaments again......This is the true story of an incredible man with an unstoppable dream fueled by a spirit which made the impossible possible, a victory of mind over body…Anwar’s spirit and huge heart helped him win out over life-threatening sickness, triumph over his enemies and move closer to his dream...

Starting a business can be very easy for some and difficult for others.For Ifeanyi Ukagwu,who started his business in his twenties, came through with a dint of hardwork,doing the right thing and being focused on what he was doing.He shared his experience with Giwa Damilola.

 Can you introduce yourself?

 OK.....I am Ukagwu Ifeanyi from Abia state to be precise

Ikwuano local government area.

 What was growing up like?

It wasn't easy,every family has it up's and down's but by

the grace of God I scaled through the childhood successfully, now I am an adult.

Tell us more about your family background?

 We are family of six ,made up of four boys with

 my mum and dad but my mum is late by God's grace 

 I have a step mum and it was quite easy for us to 

 bring her in and accept her.

You started the production of perfume,what

inspired you into this line of business?

 Actually,it has always been my passion to deal with chemical. I was told that the job for chemical engineering was slim so I had to delve into studying

mechanical engineering. But as years pass by I saw

myself in a seminar ,so I got hold of perfume making

idea and I went into it.

What were the major challenge you faced and still

facing?

 First of all I had the challenge of where to get the 

 frangance for the perfume and how to get the bottles

Also the part of distribution. What I am facing

 currently is how to customize the bottles.

In a nut shell,How do you cope with production?

  I want to give all credit to God.it being tedious,

 the movement process to buy the fragrance and items,

                    "I  want to give all credit to God"

 What is your advice to potential young people 

 who seems frustrated by the Nigeria system?

      My advice to youth is that they should  just have 

euthiasiam for what they want to do and also 

determination, if you are not really determined

their is no way they can push through.So just get

started with  what you want and God will see

you through.

Who are your role model?

   I just have a few of them and most of them are

from Christian fold.Prieye,Benny Hinn and 

Joseph Prince.

What your projection in the next 5years?

 I will be full time investing in my production

 and own a company that will have mass production

 in the market beating and competiting with others.

LEARN FROM THE EXPERIENCE OF OTHERS (PT 1)

experience. With each page you gain more understanding. As you grow your note book of experiences you fill it with observation. The issues
is that few of us make the best use of notebooks. Some
of us leave our notebook closed,rarely going through
them again.We rarely reflect on them and gain greater
wisdom.Reflection turns into insight,so that we not
only live the experience, but learn from it.There are
people with a lot of knowledge but little understanding.
They have the means but they do not understand what
 to do with their knowledge.When 25years go by they don't gain 25years experience, they gain only one year
of experience 25times.
  To win in life,you must turn experience into wisdom.So slow down,glean overtime, not overnight. We all experience more than we understand

DON'T QUIT KEEP RUNNING

“Quit! Give up! You’re beaten!” They shout at me and plead. “There’s just too much against you now. This time you can’t succeed!” And as I start to hang my head in front of failure’s face. My downward fall is broken by the memory of a race. And hope refills my weakened will as I recall that scene: For just the thought of that short race rejuvenates my being.

A children’s race, young boys, young men oh how I remember well. Excitement, sure! But also fear; it wasn’t hard to tell. They all lined up so full of hope each thought to win that race. Or tie for first, or if not that, at least take second place. And fathers watched from off the side each cheering for his son. And each boy hoped to show his dad that he would be the one. The whistle blew and off they went! Young hearts and hopes afire, to win and be the hero there was each young boy’s desire. And one boy in particular whose dad was in the crowd, was running near the lead and thought: “My dad will be so proud!”

But as they speeded down the field across a shallow dip, the little boy who thought to win lost his step and slipped. Trying hard to catch himself his hands flew out to brace, and mid the laughter of the crowd he fell flat on his face. So down he fell and with him hope he couldn’t win it now. Embarrassed, sad, he only wished to disappear somehow.

But as he fell his dad stood up and showed his anxious face, which to the boy so clearly said: “Get up and win the race.” He quickly rose, no damage done, behind a bit, that’s all and ran with all his mind and might to make up for his fall. So anxious to restore himself to catch up and to win, his mind went faster than his legs, he slipped and fell again!

He wished then he had quit before with only one disgrace. “I’m hopeless as a runner now; I shouldn’t try to race.” But in the laughing crowd he searched and found his father’s face, that steady look which said again: “Get up and win the race!” So up he jumped to try again ten yards behind the last. “If I’m to gain those yards,” he thought “I’ve got to move real fast.” Exerting everything he had he regained eight or ten, but trying so hard to catch the lead he slipped and fell again! Defeat! He lied there silently.

A tear dropped from his eye “There’s no sense running any more; three strikes: I’m out! Why try?” The will to rise had disappeared; all hope had fled away. So far behind, so error prone, a loser all the way “I’ve lost, so what’s the use,” he thought. “I’ll live with my disgrace.” But then he thought about his dad who soon he’d have to face. “Get up,” an echo sounded low. “Get up and take your place; you were not meant for failure here. Get up and win the race.” “With borrowed will get up,” it said, “You haven’t lost at all.

For winning is no more than this: To rise each time you fall.” So up he rose to run once more, and with a new commit he resolved that win or lose, at least he wouldn’t quit. So far behind the others now, the most he’d ever been still he gave it all he had and ran as though to win. Three times he’d fallen, stumbling; three times he rose again; too far behind to hope to win he still ran to the end.

They cheered the winning runner as he crossed the line first place; head high, and proud, and happy; no falling, no disgrace. But when the fallen youngster crossed the line last place, the crowd gave him the greater cheer for finishing the race. And even though he came in last with head bowed low, unproud, you would have thought he’d won the race, to listen to the crowd.

And to his dad he sadly said, “I didn’t do too well.” “To me, you won,” his father said. “You rose each time you fell.” Now when things seem dark and hard and difficult to face, the memory of that little boy helps me in my race.
