Bob Arum disclaim fight between Manny Pacquiao and Canelo
Contrary to some false internet reports of Canelo agreeing to a fight, weight and venue for a September fight with Manny Pacquiao , Bob Arum has told BoxingScene he has not been contacted about a fight
with the PacMan and instead he understand Canelo is set to face 154 WBO champion Liam Smith instead."Nobody from Canelo's team,Oscar, or anyone connected with Oscar has approached us at all about a Canelo fight. As a matter of fact, I will tell you - from what I know -they already have an opponent and that is the English kid, the 154pound champion [Liam Smith]" - Bob Arum
Tyson getting physically fit.
TYSON FURY, after weeks of toiling away in the gym, is now walking around at his optimum fighting weight ahead of his July 9 rematch with Wladimir Klitschko.
The unbeaten giant was notoriously out of shape at the press conference to announce the fight back in April, whipping off his shirt to display a wholesome gut. However he has locked himself away, initially in Holland but for the past few weeks back in the UK, and has shed the unwanted poundage.“He’s now around 18st 10lbs (around 260lbs), so he’s on weight. He may lose a pound or two between now and fight night, but he’s at his fighting weight now,” his trainer and uncle, Peter Fury, told Boxing News.“We’re right in the thick of it at the moment, but things are going very well.” Fury scaled a relatively svelte 247lbs for his first meeting with
Klitschko, though Peter explained that they have focused on power in this camp, thus increasing a bit of muscle mass.Tyson – who has never been known for his carved physique, though fights with a good engine – was apparently around 21st before he began camp, meaning he has shifted almost three stone so far. His cousin Hughie, however, will remain sidelined for a while as he
continues his recovery from severe food allergies and other physical issues. The unbeaten contender is currently on a six-month course of medication which Peter hopes will solve the problem. The issues Hughie is dealing with have caused him to lose a bit of weight, though he is currently doing some weight training to bulk himself back up.
Chris Arreola hit back at critics
CHRIS ARREOLA remains defiant in the face of the criticism his shot at WBC world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder has received .The two-time title challenger will face Wilder at the Legacy Arena in
Birmingham, Alabam a on July 16, despite only notching one win from his last four fights. Given that Wilder was set to fight dangerous Alexander Povetkin, only for that meeting to be ruined by the Russian’s failed drug test, Arreola is seen by most as a poor replacement, though he remains unpertubed. “I’m grateful for this opportunity. A lot of people say that I don’t deserve this title fight. A lot of people said Deontay didn’t deserve his title shot. I said that. But when he got it, he made the most out of it. He beat the guy [Bermane Stiverne] who beat me,” he said.“He’s defended his title and done everything you’re supposed to do as achampion. I respect him a lot. I have nothing to lose and everything
to gain.” Arreola is also not fussed about travelling to Wilder’s home state, where the Olympic bronze medallist has amassed an excitable core fanbase.
“I’m going to his backyard. I’m fine with people not recognizing me out there. He’s going to be dealing with ticket requests and I’m just going to be focused on beating Deontay Wilder. “I’m not fighting the fans, at the end of the day it’s me and Deontay Wilder in that ring. That’s what I know about this sport, there’s a lot of
talk, but at the end of the day, it’s mano a mano. “I’m blessed to have this opportunity and I’m going to make the most of it.”

Deontay Wilder has a sternly warn Tyson Fury
"I'ma whoop your ass when we get in that ring, I promise you that...if you beat Klitschko, let's make the fight...let's put all this talking aside...you, me, in the ring...knockout for sure...in the hospital...when I put you in the hospital, I'ma bring you a fruit basket," stated WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder, who had a stern message for
fellow heavyweight champion Tyson Fury
