Police confirm 86 dead in Plateau attack, 50 houses burnt

The Plateau state police command says it has so far confirmed 86 persons dead in the shooting carried out by suspected herdsmen in Gashish district of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The spokesperson of the state command, Mathias Tyopev, said asides the 86 persons killed, six persons were njured while 50 houses were burnt.
'The figure that we have now is that 86 people lost their lives in the attack, six people injured, 50 houses burnt 15 motorcycles and 12 vehicles were burnt in the attack. ” Tyiopev told Channels TV.
The state government has since declared a dusk to dawn cuyrfew in the area.

The Osubi community in Delta state yesterday handed over Mr Ifeanyi Akpa and his wife(pictured above) to the police in the community for physically assaulting his 13-year old nephew, Chigozie, who resides with them. The community members who witnessed the beating of the little boy and saw how battered his back looked, apprehended the couple and handed them over to the police.
Activist, Harrison Gwamnishu, who shared the photos online, quoted a resident of the community to have said ' Chigozie does all the domestic work in the house, sells pure water during the day and yet they won't allow the poor boy have peace'.
The Speaker Delta State house of Assembly Hon Oborevwori Sheriff has directed that the boy be taken away from the couple and be given a scholarship

Catholic priest suspended for a year for rapping in church

Father Paul Ogola of St Monica Catholic Church in Rapogi, Migori County, south-west of Nairobi, Kenya, has been suspended for rapping in church as a way of preaching the gospel.
The 45-year-old priest was suspended on June 3 for alleged misconduct by the Homa Bay Diocese. Fr Charles Kochiel, the judicial vicar of the inter-diocesan tribunal of Kisumu, confirmed the priest's suspension.
The church officials took issue with Fr Ogalo’s style of preaching and suspended him for a year to "reconsider his manner of preaching."
It was revealed that Father Ogola liked entertaining his congregation with rap music, which he said he uses to urge the youth to abandon the “evil deeds of the world and turn to Christ."

"I use the rap music to bring … youths to the church. Thereafter, I bring them to Christ," Fr Ogalo said during a recent interview.
He also said he used rap music to persuade young people to shun drugs and turn their attention to environmental and social justice issues.
Bishop Philip Anyolo, who heads the Homa Bay Diocese, said the priest has been suspended from public liturgical activities.
"It is true the church has taken a disciplinary measure against him. He is suspended because the use of rap music in preaching is not allowed," said Bishop Anyolo on Sunday.
But the bishop said Fr Ogalo has not been barred from attending church services.
"We have just stopped him from preaching using rap to accord him time to change his ways," said Bishop Anyolo.
The priest's suspension has been met with mixed reaction on social media. Some social media users support the church's decision, but others argue it would drive young worshippers away from the church.

Looking back to how tedious the video and still shoot of the commercial was made me realize the comfort of filming today lol.. It was a massive camera, and the lights were so huge, emanating heat that can roast croaker fish. I was sweating so much, they took off my clothes to iron off the sweat more than four times 😡…it wasn’t funny at all.
And here I am feeling all nostalgic about it and the growth of our industry from then till date. 😁

The young man, Bubbingeon Musekiwa Ndaba was reportedly hoodwinked into the unholy relationship with his 67-year-old father, Isaac Ndaba’s wife, Naume Langson.
The matter came to light when the two were caught by their niece Bongani Ncube allegedly engaging in sex on a river bed.
It is reported that before they were caught in the act, the two lovebirds were always taking to the bush to satisfy their sexual urge.
After busting them, Ncube reportedly alerted Isaac and it was then that the matter was brought before Chief Nemangwe for hearing.
It is alleged that after failing to buy Ncube’s silence, and in a bid to “fix “him, Langson lied to her husband that he (Ncube) once forced himself on her.
Bubbingeon said one afternoon, he was sleeping in his bedroom hut and because he was feeling hot and not expecting anyone to return home soon, he didn’t put on his pair of trousers.
While undressed he suddenly slept off, but forgot to lock the door and Langson just came in unexpectedly. After seeing him undressed, Bubbingeon claimed Langson must have been moved to a point that she couldn’t control her sexual drive.
He said before he realised it, she was already on him and efforts to push her off failed, and subsequently, they had sex. Bubbingeon said;

“After that afternoon sex, she knelt down and begged me not to tell anybody saying my father was sex starving her and that he was also not good in bed.
After realising that I didn’t have underwear she also promised to buy me one as a token that I was good in bed,”

The fathers wife, Langson admitted to the act, while also stating that she was sex starved. She said;

“What I did was no mistake and I think the only mistake I made was that I slept with my husband’s son. This is because I was not getting enough satisfaction from his father.It’s unfortunate, but that is the reality. I also don’t know how it happened, but my affair with Bubbingeon was out of frustration and I apologised to my husband and he forgave me.
